4. STANDING ON THE BOARD. Copy

An arrow or flag in the pictures indicates the wind direction. Once the board is in the correct position, you must get on it on its windward side and with your back turned to the wind so as the board does not flip. Grabbing the uphaul and tighten it a little will help you stand up more easily. 

From now on, you must not refer to your feet and hands as right/left, but as front/back. Depending on where you are headed, your right/left feet/hands will be at your front or at your back. 

Then, with your back turned to the wind and the board in perpendicular position, always place your feet in the grey area with your front foot right in front of the mast and your back foot right in front of the DP.
